Whenever United are involved in a truly big game, Ji-Sung Park`s name usually appears on the team-sheet.
This season though, the South Korean star has been used sporadically as Sir Alex Ferguson injects a bit of youthful vigour into his starting eleven.
But a lack of action hasn`t dampened the Korean`s desire to remain at Old Trafford with the player reported as having remarked to the red-top press,
“When I came to United I didn`t expect to be here this long. I can`t believe I`ve been here for seven years.”
“Hopefully, this is my last club – but you have to prove you deserve it.”
“I haven`t played every match but I have to deal with that.”
“If the manager asks you to play then you have to perform well – the boss expects it.”
“It`s quite difficult but I know how to deal with it. I have to perform well even if I only get a short time on the pitch. If you do that then the boss gives you chances. I`m satisfied with my performances but I know I can improve.”
Is Park a valued member of the starting eleven or has he slipped won the pecking order to become nothing more than a decent squad player?
Your views would be most welcomed.
