Continuing with our ongoing coverage, until a deal is signed, sealed and delivered, we`ve another installment on the Michael Owen saga.

Having mentioned, yesterday, that Owen was interesting Sunderland but was, probably, hankering after a return to Liverpool, Tony Pulis, over at the Britannia Stadium, is once again keen to land the out of contract striker.

Pulis is preparing to offer Owen a pay-as-you-play deal remarking,

“I would love to sign Michael. If we can do it, we will do it, and on the basis that we did with Jonathan Woodgate and players like that.”

“If he`s in the team he will get paid, and if not he won`t get paid so much.”

Would it be churlish to suggest that with Owen`s injury record it could well be a case of won`t get paid so much!
