Opinion: United, To Our Relief, Finally Call A Halt In Pursuit Of Unwanted Real Madrid Star

|

Earlier this week as we did our best to fathom out just what the future might hold for the Real Madrid player Gareth Bale, we ran an article that contained an unusual proposition.

Our article Click Here, covered the suggestion that Manchester United would try to bring the 29-year-old Welsh international, to Old Trafford, on a loan deal.

Here at Vital Manchester United, we surmised that it was a proposition that Real Madrid were unlikely to agree to.

Today, the story has taken another twist.

According to the Evening Standard, Manchester United have abandoned all interest in the player.

Our referenced source is reporting that the club are set to fully back Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s policy of only recruiting the best young domestic talent available.

Sat here in the editorial chair, it is a move I fully support.

Whilst Bale would have been an interesting signing when he opted to leave Tottenham Hotspur, back in September 2013, but six years on injuries have taken their toll and I’m convinced he’s not the same player he was some twenty-four months ago.

If Manchester United are after a winger my preference would be to bring Wilfried Zaha back to the club.

Is that a view you concur with or would you beg to differ?
