Opinion: This Serbian Midfielder Looks A Far More Viable Proposition For Manchester United

|

The theme being presented, today, by the mainstream media is that of adding a midfielder to the Manchester United squad.

After witnessing, in the last six-months, the departures of Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera, there’s no denying that it is an area of the squad that Ole Gunnar Solksjaer needs to bolster.

Already today, United Linked to French World Cup Winner, we’ve discussed the pros and cons of Manchester United’s interest in the French midfielder Blaise Matuidi but, if the media are correct, the Old Trafford hierarchy also have another option to explore.

According to The Daily Mirror, Manchester United are set to revive their interest in a player they tried to sign last summer.

Back in the days when Jose Mourinho was still in charge, United’s interest in the Serbian midfielder Sergei Milinkovic-Savic came to an abrupt end when they were quoted a price of £87 million for the 24-year-old.

However, our referenced source is now suggesting that Lazio, if the player pushes for a move, could, reluctantly, be forced to let the player leave for a reduced fee.

At 24-years-of-age, Milinkovic-Savic would, if it came to a choice between Matuidi and the Serbian, would certainly get my vote, but is that a view you agree with?
