Opinion: Our Suspicions Are That United Are Getting Closer To Signing A Classy Midfielder

|

With two signings completed this summer, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James, the Manchester United support are, like us, eagerly waiting to see who the third summer signing might be.

One name that appears to be cropping up quite regularly when it comes to transfer tittle-tattle, is Portuguese midfielder, Bruno Fernandes.

Two recent examples illustrating the point perfectly have come to light this weekend.

Yesterday the Manchester Evening News carried an article where it was inferred that the Sporting Lisbon boss, Marcel Keizer, was of the opinion his clubs’ chances of keeping hold of the player, in the wake of interest from other clubs, were slim.

Today an article in The Sunday Express carries the suggestion that two of our reputed rivals for the signature of the 24-year-old midfielder, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, have both distanced themselves from acquiring the player.

If that is indeed the case then, perhaps, just perhaps, Bruno Fernandes could be heading to Old Trafford to join the Ole Gunnar Solksjaer revolution, a move that would certainly get my approval.

But would the signing of Bruno Fernandes get your seal of approval?
