Just a matter of days ago, here at Vital Manchester United, we welcomed the speculation linking the Leicester City midfielder James Maddison with a move to Old Trafford.

In our article, Click Here our enthusiasm bubbled over at the prospect of Maddison leaving the Foxes to join Manchester United.

However, it would appear that the 22-year-old England international doesn’t share the same feelings.

According to the Daily Mail Maddison has no intention of leaving Leicester City to join either us or another club papers link him with. Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked recently.

It would seem that having joined Leicester City from Norwich City last summer the talented playmaker is quite happy where he is and is obviously enjoying life at the King Power Stadium under the managerial acumen of Brendan Rodgers.

If that is the case then I can only admire his stance in a game where loyalty appears to belong to a bygone era.

However, I wonder if he does stay at Leicester City whether, someday in the future, he’ll regret not taking the plunge this summer and move to one of the big-six of English football?

  • He’s not stupid lol you are clinging on to top 6 by the skin of your teeth you really are a basket case. Us wolves Everton, Watford, West Ham none of us worry about you and that’s reflected in our players views. Massive club worldwide yes ( for now ) basket case? Absolutely

  • Such a shame that ambitious clubs like Leicester , who have I believe won the premiership more recently than Man Utd , don’t know their place anymore as feeder clubs to the so called ‘top six’ sides. How on earth will the status quo persist if clubs and players don’t come running every time a ‘top six’ club calls? …. and what has his plunger got to do with it!? ????

  • The arrogance of Man Utd blinds them from seeing the reality. Leicester has one of the top academies for young players. They are on the rise and Man Utd have lost their way ever since Ferguson retired. Don’t get me wrong – Man Utd have some great players… but right now they don’t have a clue where they are. James Maddison won’t go to Man Utd because he is part of a team that knows where they are going, they have a plan, they are executing it well and he plays regularly and he is being developed. So why risk moving to a team that right now has no clue!

    • Form is temporary, Class is permanent. Manutd is class and even at its worst is way more assured and better than the Leicesters’ of this world. Even Brendan Rodgers would jump at the chance to be manutd assistant coach. Maddison shall regret ofcourse. I think he feared the challenge of a top club. Manutd shud concentrate of the bigger players that want to play for the historical club.

      • Not really. Untd as a club are all over the place and however likeable Solskjaer is, you missed a trick by not waiting the season out and then getting Pocchettino. You will be looking for another manager next season (again) so there is no stability.
Also, Southampton are the example to clubs like us of where it can go badly wrong when you keep selling your best players

  • As a lifelong United supporter, I have to say that the club running and ethos is all wrong. They are an absolute shambles. Ferguson ruled it with an iron rod so that nobody else has a clue now how to proceed. Even players with promise (Zaha, Rashford, Martial) fail miserably to progress properly. Why would anyone want to go there while the current establishment remains in place?
