Sir Alex Ferguson has seen David De Gea`s confidence grow in recent weeks.

After being ousted as the automatic choice, by Anders Lindegaard, De Gea has taken full advantage of Lindegaard`s training ground injury to reclaim the jersey.

A couple of sparkling displays, whereby his saves have helped rescue a lost situation, at Chelsea, whilst also keeping Norwich at bay last time out, have seen him earn rave reviews.

But there is still this general feeling that the Spaniard would be better served if was of a greater physical presence and this view appears to be shared by Sir Alex who has suggested, to the tabloid press, that De Gea would be ideally serve dif he were a stone heavier.

To that effect, Sir Alex has admitted that steps are being taken to ensure De Gea puts a stone on in weight: one in each pocket might suffice for now!
