The Olympic dream for Manchester United’s Team GB contingent Ryan Giggs and Tom Cleverley died on Saturday night with penalties, quite literally, costing then a semi final place.

Both featured for Team GB in their quarter final against South Korea, Cleverley for the full game and Giggsy as a late substitute, but despite both doing what they had to it wasn’t enough to inspire GB to victory on an otherwise glorious day, and night, for Great Britain…

A missed penalty during the game itself, from Aaron Ramsey, meant that the game eventually ended in a 1-1 draw and despite both Giggs and Cleverley scoring from the spot in the shootout a miss by Daniel Sturridge proved decisive with Team GB going on to lose 5-4 on penalties.
