Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is going to retire in 2008.

The hero of the Nou Camp was struggling with injuries for years but his return to form this season has been quite impressive, as he netted 7 Premiership goals, only one fewer than Louis Saha! Ole is still a predator at 34 but his pace and stamina is on the wane so it’s not a great surprise he plans to hang up his boots the following year.

‘I’ll most likely stay here. I have one year left on my contract and I’m aiming to do as well as possible to carry on,’ Solskjaer said, after stating he does not expect to play beyond next season.

‘I’ll have to see how I feel. I could suddenly say enough is enough, but I’ll stay here next year in any case.’

‘I’m almost certain I’ll be better next season. Then I’ll have this season behind me after two or three years out,’ he added.

‘I’ll be able to play at a higher level.’

Let’s hope he’s right and as for him staying here: I think all Manchester United fans would be happy to see him in a coaching role or an ambassador or just anything. He deserves it, after years of magnificent service.
