Against Liverpool, Romelu Lukaku had the chance to write his name in the record books.

If our striker had of scored he`d have become the first Manchester United player to score 8 goals in his first 8 Premier League games for the club.

But it wasn`t to be!

Lukaku had one of those games he`d probably like to forget.

The Belgian could only manage 1 shot on target, which Simon Mignolet kept out.

However, that one shot was an improvement on his previous 5 fixtures against Liverpool whereby he`d failed to get a single shot on target.

The game seemed to pass Lukaku by early on, with the striker getting just 1 touch inside the first 23 minutes and the striker saw his frustration emerge in two tackles whereby he could easily have received a yellow card.

In total Lukaku had just 22 touches throughout the match, a reflection on just how little attacking intent Manchester United showed as a side.
