With the January transfer window opening less than a month away, newspaper speculation relating to the future of Manchester United`s left-back, Luke Shaw, continues to gather momentum.

It`s widely accepted that 22-year-old Shaw will be moving on this January in either a loan deal or a permanent move.

One possible destination that keeps popping up in the media is that of Newcastle United.

However, according to one news source, the popular red-top publication, The Sun, the deal could be in danger of falling apart before it really gets going.

Our referenced source is suggesting that Manchester United would be willing to accept a fee of around the £20 million mark for the former England international, which considering the manner in which transfer fees have spiralled in recent months, seems a fair deal.

But, according to our aforementioned source, the price is still too rich for Newcastle United who are reported as not being willing to pay £20 million for the player.

Here at Vital Manchester United we`ll keep our eyes open for any further developments and report back as deemed necessary.
