Just when we thought we`d seen the last of our misfiring Portuguese player, it looks as if he`ll be back come the end of the season.

Loaning Nani to Sporting Lisbon was supposed to open the gates for a permanent move away from Old Trafford therefore removing his wages from the books.

Since joining Sporting Lisbon, a club where he first displayed the talent that saw him become a United player, Nani has prospered, however it would appear that there is a huge barrier when it comes to a permanent deal being secured that would see Nani re-join Sporting Lisbon at the end of this season.

It appears that Nani is seeking a salary of £3.6 million-a-year which is something the Portuguese outfit cannot afford.

Now whether a compromise can be achieved we can only wait and see.
