The on-going debate as to who will be pulling the managerial strings next season has taken another huge twist overnight.

The leading tabloid newspaper this nation produces, the Sun, carries an exclusive back-page revelation suggesting that it will indeed be Jose Mourinho in charge of Manchester United for the 20156 / 2017 season.

Our source is reporting that Mourinho has been assured, in the last twenty-four hours that the position is his.

Apparently, negotiations have reached an advanced stage and a deal, said to be worth £60 million over three years, is on the table waiting to be signed.

If that is the case then Mourinho, tasked with returning Manchester United to their former glory, will become the highest paid manager in history.

It would appear that the sudden influx of new information may have been triggered by the reports suggesting that Manchester United were being linked with the acquisition of the current Paris Saint-Germain manager, Laurent Blanc, forcing Mourinho`s team to swiftly intervene fearing their man was being over-looked.

It remains to be seen if our source has all their ducks in a row or whether they`ve jumped the gun a bit.
