Earlier we reported on how Manchester United, in the last-16 of the Europa League had drawn the Russian side FC Rostov.

We commented on how we thought it was the worst possible draw for Manchester United especially with the first leg away from home resulting in a trip of in excess of four and a half thousand miles just days before we travel to Chelsea to play an FA Cup quarter-final.

Well it seems our thoughts were echoed by Jose Mourinho, ahead of his pre-match press conference ahead of the EFL Cup Final against Southampton, at Wembley.

Like us Jose was none too impressed with the draw with the boss remarking,

‘It is a bad draw in every aspect. Far and difficult. Comes in a bad period.

‘They had a very good Champions League campaign. They beat Ajax and Anderlecht in qualifiers and managed important results against Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.

‘They got third position in their group, leaving PSV Eindhoven out. I know the coach well. The team are very defensive and physical. It’s a bad draw.’

But the big question for Friday night is – Should we prioritise the Europa League over the FA Cup considering the Europa League winners qualify for the Champions League next season?

Your thoughts would be most welcome.
