With the preparations for the forthcoming new season gaining momentum, Manchester United successfully completed their first pre-season game beating LA Galaxy 5-2, in the US.

After the victory, Jose Mourinho spoke to the press and was asked about, following Cristiano Ronaldo`s problems with the tax authorities in Spain, whether bringing the Portuguese superstar back to Old Trafford was a possibility.

In reply, Mourinho certainly ended any hopes the Old Trafford faithful had of seeing Ronaldo pull on a Manchester United shirt in a competitive fixture remarking,

‘I am not going to get my club to waste time on players who are mission impossible.

‘Ronaldo is such an important player for his club. A player of great economic power. We have not been able to find any reason that could have made us think that Ronaldo could leave.’

That, I`m afraid, is the end of that dream then!
