The future of Jose Mourinho as the manager of Manchester United continued to attract attention from the press over the weekend.

With previous speculation having suggested that Mourinho could be bound for Paris Saint-Germain, one source, the Sunday Mirror infers that is still the case.

However, this referenced source points out that although Paris Saint-Germain are interested in acquiring the services of Mourinho the fact that they could face the prospect of having to pay compensation to the tune of £30 million may be off-putting.

Elsewhere, the news source, the Daily Star, points out that Mourinho is set to remain as the manager of Manchester United at least until 2020.

The ‘Special One` has eighteen months left on his contract but our aforementioned source points out that there is an option in Mourinho`s current contract that means Manchester United can activate a clause whereby Mourinho`s contract is extended for another year.

If Manchester United were to do that, the compensation fee payable, by any club wishing to lure him away would increase substantially.
