Paul Pogba has said he was ready to make his United debut against Southampton on Friday, having been suspended against Bournemouth on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho agrees as he’s confirmed the French international will play some part in the match at Old Trafford tomorrow with him poised to make his second United debut, be that as a starter or from the bench.

He wouldn’t confirm if this would be a starting place but he would play ‘some minutes’ of this match.

Fitness isn’t something Mourinho, talking to MUTV, has any concerns about with Pogba as others had less fitness when facing Leicester in the Community Shield recently.

‘We played against Leicester with players with less training than him and we saw that match as a way to improve them and accelerate the process. With Paul it’s a bit the same – not one single minute of any pre-season match but almost two weeks of work with us, sometimes with the group, sometimes separately, and the condition is okay to play some minutes.’

Now we wait to see if this will be a start or this outing will come from the bench? I’m going to say he’ll start!
