The future of the Manchester United midfielder, Juan Mata, looks a little clearer today.

Brought back into the starting eleven against AFC Bournemouth, Mata had a good game, edging Manchester United ahead as half-time approached.

Although Mata was substituted in the second half, as Jose Mourinho freshened things up, there were nothing but smiles from the 28-year-old as opposed to the puzzled expressions and frowns when the Spaniard, after coming on as a substitute in the Community Shield, was promptly substituted himself.

Talking about the Spaniard after the match to Sky Sports, Click Here, Jose Mourinho confirmed that Mata did have a future at Old Trafford, something that will please the support.

However, we should point out that Mata`s goal, a simple touch-in after the Bournemouth defender Simon Francis had made a classic error, was in fact the first goal Juan had ever scored whilst working under the managerial acumen of Jose Mourinho.

When both were at Chelsea, Mata made thirteen appearances for Jose Mourinho but never got on the score-sheet.
