Jose Mourinho`s anger at the way Phil Jones was treated whilst on international duty, with England, has hit the headlines again this morning.

Mourinho, speaking to the media, is livid that his defender had to have injections to enable him to play in the friendly fixture against German, remarking,

‘In 17 years as a manager I don’t have one single player that had injections of anaesthetic to play a friendly.

Before further adding,

‘I am not an angel and I had players injected to play official matches, crucial matches, but a friendly… to get six local anaesthetic injections to play a friendly, I’ve never heard of that.

‘Phil Jones had it, and had it before the match, and after 15 minutes he was out and tomorrow he is out.’

It does appear that the six injections all formed part of one procedure and that the Manchester United and England medical teams were in communication relating to the procedure.

But surely Jose has a point, after all, like the boss says, it was only a friendly!
