Bournemouth away, for a first game of the season, could have been considered a difficult fixture.

After all, Manchester United lost 2-1 to the newly promoted side last season.

But, as it turned out, apart from a spell of pressure towards the end, Manchester United were in cruise control with goals from Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovich giving Manchester United the cushion needed to ensure the three points belonged to Manchester United.

It was just the start Jose Mourinho would have wanted but after the game, speaking to the media, Jose confirmed that he felt nervous before the big kick-off, remarking,

“To be honest, I was a little bit nervous before the game. For somebody with so many years in football, to have that feeling is normal.

“I never forget coming to Old Trafford with Real Madrid and asking Sir Alex if he was still nervous and he said, ‘Yes`. It`s good to have a little feeling.”

It is, nerves keep the mind focussed and with Jose`s last spell in the Premier League, at Chelsea, ending so acrimoniously, the last thing Jose would have wanted yesterday was to suffer a defeat.

Here`s hoping Mourinho and the side can keep the ball rolling as we await our next fixture, a visit from Southampton this Friday evening.
