And so the speculation surrounding a possible move to Old Trafford for Raheem Sterling continues.

Yesterday the lead headline in the sports pages intimated that Manchester United were set to kick-start matters by making an initial bid of £20 million for the player knowing full well that it could well kick-start a bidding war with Manchester City and Real Madrid also interested.

Today we learn, via the local Liverpool newspaper, Liverpool have no intention of breaking the habit of a lifetime and doing business with Manchester United for the first time since the last war.

However, as for the player himself, Raheem is reported a s being open to a move from Anfield to Old Trafford although he does admit he does have concerns how the move would be received following the long-term rivalry between the clubs.

My view is that if the move did go ahead then Raheem would be welcomed at Old Trafford and as for the hatred he`d get from the Liverpool fraternity, would it be any more than he`s been getting since he declared that he wanted out and to play for a club that will win some trophies!
