In all honesty it was a lackluster performance by England on Tuesday evening, especially when it came to the finishing department.
Once again England had to rely on the Chelsea midfielder, Frank Lampard, to find the net with the likes of Defoe, Sturridge and Welbeck not quite looking to be up to the task.
Therefore it is no surprise that Roy Hodgson reflected on the availability of the injured Wayne Rooney with the England boss remarking,
“The sooner Wayne comes back into our fold the better. We are short of experienced, quality front players in England.”
We certainly were on Tuesday night and I have to say we missed a little of the bedevilment that Rooney brings to the game.
