When Jose Mourinho signed on the dotted line to become the manager of Manchester United, it was naturally assumed that Juan Mata would be headed for the exit door.

After all, hadn`t Mourinho sold Mata when both were at Stamford Bridge with many perceiving the Spaniard was not his type of player?

However, Mata has knuckled down this season and before he was struck down with a groin injury that required an operation, was having a decent season.

Today though, speculation that the Spaniard could be heading for the exit has once again made the transfer tittle-tattle headlines.

According to the Express, Manchester United are looking at the possibility of bringing the 23-year-old midfielder Anderson Talisca to Old Trafford.

Talisca is on the books of the Portuguese club Benfica but is currently impressing everyone whilst on loan at Besiktas. The chain of thought somehow being that if Manchester United sign Talisca then Mata could be on the way to Besiktas to fill the void in their squad.

I`m not sure how that logic is worked out but, then again, I`m just reporting it!
