Manchester United vs Everton Preview

|

Manchester United face Everton tomorrow at 7 o’clock at Leigh Sports Village in the FA Women’s League Cup.

After Manchester United beat Aston Villa 5-0 on Saturday they will look to carry on their winning form into the cup competitions, where they will play fellow northwest team, Everton, in the FA WSL Cup.

Everton currently sits two places above United in second with five points after they beat Aston Villa on penalties and beat Sheffield United 3-0 away from home.

United however have struggled in this competition with them getting beaten on matchday one by Aston Villa on penalties 4-3 and then also losing on penalties 3-1 after a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes against WSL 2 side Durham.

This will be a valuable three points for Marc Skinner’s side if they want to progress in this tournament, a win is important with only one game after this where the Red Devils will face Sheffield United 7 days before Christmas.

The last time these two sides faced off was on the 30th of October at Walton Hall Park, where United beat the Toffees 3-0with goals from Nikita Parris, Galton and Hayley Ladd.

United were deserved winners in that game and they will look to try and replicate that result on Wednesday night. Everton are winless in their last three Women’s Super League games.

Everton are managed by Danish manager Brian Sorensen who took over on the eighth of April of this year, as he replaced Jean-Luc Vasseur. A win for Everton would give them massive hope to get out of the group and into the knockout rounds.
