Several of the Manchester United first team squad are at the stage of their current deals whereby their futures at the club are being questioned.

Already this month we`ve produced front-page articles whereby it has been suggested that Juan Mata and Ander Herrera are the subject of attention from clubs in La Liga.

Mata and Herrera, along with Ashley Young and Daley Blind, are all out of contract next summer and could be the subject of offers from other clubs as early as January.

However, according to the Telegraph, Manchester United have taken steps to avoid losing the players for nothing.

Our aforementioned source is reporting that Manchester United have invoked clauses in their existing contracts that extend them by another twelve months.

With this being the case any club wishing to purchase either of the quartet will have to meet a transfer valuation set by Manchester United as opposed to getting them on a free transfer.
