Manchester United Set To Hijack Move For Central Defender

|

Do Manchester United really need to sign another central defender?

Do we not have sufficient numbers and quality on our books?

According to the media it would appear not.

Today, lurking in the pages of The Express is the insinuation that Manchester United are not just showing a passing interest in the Lille centre-back, Gabriel Magalhaes, but are keen to purchase him.

The Brazilian U-20 defender is currently being targeted by the Serie A side, Napoli.

However, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is keen to hijack the deal believing Magalhaes will be the perfect partner for Harry Maguire.

Sat here in the editorial chair, I have to admit that I’ve seen very little of Magalhaes in action but, at 22-years-of-age, he would appear ripe for a move to the Premier League.

But what are your views on this possible purchase?

Does it get a thumbs-up or a thumbs down from you?

Who are United’s centre backs? Maguire, Lindelof, Smalling, Jones, Tuanzebe, Baily, Fosu Mensah, Rojo. Seems well stocked. Well not really. Smalling and Rojo aren’t part of Ole’s plans and will leave, Jones is injured again and a disaster waiting to happen, Tuanzebe is also injured again and this has to raise questions about whether or not he can stand the physical pressure of being a pro footballer, and Mensah is a more of a defensive midfielder or a full back. That leaves Lindelof, Maguire and Baily. So yes United could do with a centre back, one with pace, but I really don’t think any rs on the cards for one to come in this summer, as other positions need sorting first.

Lindelof has given away 16 points on his own as he cannot jump we were in winning positions at Southampton away and Wolves away all he needed to do was head out of play and then he commits suicide heading back to De Gea and we lose against poor opposition we need a centre back who is quality athletic and not slow llike Lindelof and a reliable goalkeeper just look at Liverpool how with a reliable central defence you can win games and not draw and get into the opponents half and head goals we also need to replace Luke Shaw he can not cross the ball no assists

Never mind Lindelof , Maguire is the most over rated CB I have ever seen so slow at bringing the ball out and always passes back or side ways . He is no better than Smalling tbh & why De Gea has not been dropped is beyond me , shows how weak Ole really is .
