Manchester United Quoted A World Record Fee To Sign this Star

|

Every so often a piece of transfer tittle-tattle appears that makes your jaw drop in either disbelief or excitement.

Today is one such day!

Lurking in the pages of The Mirror is the inference that Manchester United would quite like to add Federico Valverde to their squad.

The 21-year-old Uruguayan midfielder is seen as the perfect partner for Bruno Fernandes and at 21-years-of-age would provide the club with service for years to come.

When it comes to his style of play, our referenced source compares him to Steven Gerrard.

However, it would appear that Real Madrid are in no mood to part with their exciting young midfield talent and are quoting a jaw-dropping transfer fee of £450 million.

Clearly a figure designed to dissuade Manchester United, or any other club, from showing an interest.

The magnitude of the figure quoted to ward off interest is more than double the current world record for a transfer which is the £200 million Paris Saint Germain paid Barcelona for the Brazilian striker, Neymar, back in 2017.

I think it is safe to say we won’t be seeing, in the foreseeable future, Federico Valverde in a Manchester United shirt.
