Manchester United Midfielder’s Future Still Undecided As Clubs Get Ready To Pounce

|

Back in the second week in March, here at Vital Manchester United, we reported on how the Old Trafford future of Jesse Lingard was in doubt.

Our article – manchester-united-international-midfielder-set-to-be-sold-this-summer – pointed out that Lingard’s ambitions of playing regular first-team football had not come to fruition o a regular basis, this season.

Although Lingard has made 34 appearances in total, only half of these had seen him start and most of those were in cup competitions.

As a result, speculation continues to generate column inches with The Mirror inferring that Lingard is interesting two other Premier League clubs in the shape of Arsenal and Everton.

Speculation that a move is on the cards has also been fuelled by the fact it has been revealed that Lingard has linked up with the so-called super-agent Mino Raiola.

But it is by no means certain that Lingard will be leaving Manchester United this summer with The Metro inferring that Jesse is keen to stay and secure a spot in the first-team.

That could still happen with the midfielder still having 12 months of his current extension to run and his contract also includes a one-year extension trigger clause.

However, sat in the editorial chair, I believe that if Manchester United are to climb back to the summit of English football then Lingard will have to be happy with a squad role, I can’t see him being a regular in the side anymore, can you?
