Manchester United Legend Is Not Set For An Emotional Return To The Club Where He Made His Name

|

Sometimes a little piece of tittle-tattle appears that instantly grabs your attention.

Occasionally this piece of transfer speculation may be attention-grabbing, it may be almost a dream come true or it may be so far-fetched that you just know it will not happen.

Unfortunately, this piece of tittle-tattle, I feel, belongs to the latter category.

While we can all hanker for the emotional return of Cristiano Ronaldo to the club, it just isn’t, according to The Sun going to happen in the foreseeable future or perhaps indeed, never.

Our referenced source is championing the inference that Ronaldo, now 35-years-of-age. Has pledged to remain at Juventus until 2022, thereby instantly quashing rumours linking him with a return to Old Trafford.

If any deal is ruled out until post-2022, then Ronaldo would be approaching 37-years-of-age, surely too old for the rigours of top-flight football and what purpose, other than sentimental, would a return at that age serve?

Clearly a case of better to have better loved and lost than to never have loved at all.
