When it comes to Manchester United’s pursuit of Jadon Sancho it really has been a tale of artistic diligence keeping up with all the transfer tittle-tattle.
Previously, I have expressed my view that the pursuit of the 20-yera-old Borussia Dortmund player was turning into a forlorn affair set to end in failure – manchester-uniteds-desire-to-sign-this-player-is-doomed-to-fail.
Although I doubt that Manchester United will be successful in this pursuit, media articles continue to appear with the name of Sancho and Manchester United in the same sentence.
Today though an article with a different slant on the speculation caught my eye.
According to The Sun, Manchester United are now considering an alternative strategy and instead of continuing to pursue Sancho they are set to switch their attentions closer to home.
Our referenced source is of the view that the Old Trafford hierarchy are now focussing on the 22-year-old Leicester City winger, Harvey Barnes.
To me, it appears to be good plan.
Barnes is slowly emerging as a real talent and could become a major star.
However, whether Leicester City would be prepared to sell is another question.
All we can do is keep an eye out for any further developments and report back as deemed necessary.
