After the surprise defeat at the hands of Huddersfield Town last weekend, it was good to see Manchester United get back to winning ways against a Tottenham Hotspur side that are considered as candidates to win the Premier League.

The game was a hard-fought encounter that was low on clear-cut chances and, at one stage, looked to be heading towards a 0-0 draw,

But sensing that the game needed shaking up the introduction of Anthony Martial for Marcus Rashford proved to be a master-stroke. The young Frenchman had been on the pitch for just eleven minutes when he found space in the area running on to a headed assist from Romelu Lukaku to stroke ball past Lloris in the Tottenham goal.

Manchester United had other chances with Lukaku hitting the post with an effort and also being denied a goal by a fine save from Lloris.

As for Tottenham, they missed Harry Kane up front and the closest they came to a goal was when Dele Alli saw a header just go the wrong side of the post.

The win makes it five wins out of five for Manchester United at home in the Premier League and also with the bonus of five clean sheets.
