Last weekend Manchester United played out of their skins to come back from 2-0 down, to beat Manchester City 3-0, thereby depriving our noisy-neighbours of the Premier League title, leaving the Manchester United support euphoric.
This afternoon, taking on the bottom team in the Premier League table, West Bromwich Albion, Manchester United handed Manchester City the Premier League title on a plate, losing 1-0.
At a very wet Old Trafford, a goal, late in the second half, from Jay Rodriguez, was enough to inflict defeat on a Manchester United side that gave a lacklustre display.
By the end of the game, the vast majority of the home support had left the stadium whilst those who remained booed the side off the pitch.
Jose Mourinho, absolutely drenched by the rain had a face like thunder as he strode down the touchline to the tunnel area, no doubt fully aware he has a huge amount of work to do this summer if he is to narrow the gap between ourselves and our neighbours.
