The number of column inches relating to the possibility of the Leicester City midfielder, James Maddison, joining Manchester United continues to grow on a daily basis.
Already, this weekend, here at Vital Manchester United, we’ve commented on the transfer talk linking the club with Maddison and also the Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish: united-linked-with-two-quality-midfielders.
But, today, the emphasis appears to have shifted towards concentrating on luring 23-year-old Maddison to the club with The Mirror, inferring that Manchester United are ready to tempt Leicester City into a sale by offering the Foxes a fee of £45 million and also 27-year-old Jesse Lingard in part-exchange.
Quite what Leicester City would make of such an offer remains to be seen but, in my eyes, it looks quite a reasonable one.
Recently, when the interest in Maddison and Grealish became public, we asked an enticing question in a poll: given-the-choice-to-sign-just-one-who-would-it-be, asking you to express a preference if the club were only able to acquire the services of one of the duo.
The results showed that 66% of those that voted preferred Maddison.
But can the United hierarchy satisfy the demands of the United supporters?
That, my friends, remains to be seen.
