There`s still no official confirmation coming out of Paris that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has decided to remain at Paris Saint-Germain and has signed another year-long contract, but one thing seems definite, he isn`t coming to Old Trafford.

With it looking more and more likely that Louis van Gaal will be staying on to see the last year of his contract out, the Dutchman has, in the Mail on Sunday dismissed any chances of the Swedish striker being a summer signing.

According to our referenced source, Louis van Gaal has completely ruled out signing Ibrahimovic believing that, at 34-years of age, Zlatan is too old.

Now perhaps Louis van Gaal has a point, perhaps Manchester United should be looking to developing the squad and not propping it up on a temporary basis with a short-term signing of an aging gunslinger.

But, it would have certainly been interesting and exciting to see the striker in a Manchester United shirt exposing the fragility of many a Premier League defence.
