With a tough trip to North London facing Manchester United this weekend, Louis van Gaal held his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.

Talking about those who are available again Louis van Gaal pointed out that both Ashley Young and Phil Jones are available for selection.

However, it appears that rumours relating to Wayne Rooney being available again were wide of the mark with our Dutch boss inferring that Rooney needs to have a run out with the U21-side before he can be considered for a return to first team duty.

But Louis van Gaal did confirm that Rooney is getting back to full fitness after training with the first team twice this week as he continues his rehabilitation from the knee injury he`s been side-lined with.

Continuing on the injury theme Louis confirmed that our Belgian youngster, Adnan Januzaj, would not be available for selection due to injury.

Talking about the opposition this Sunday, Louis van Gaal was full of praise for the Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino, implying that the Argentine deserves enormous credit for making a tam out of a squad of individuals at Tottenham.

But, as for an admission that he had been approached about taking over as the technical director of the Netherlands, Louis van Gaal refused to comment.
