Deals are done and some, unfortunately, are not!

The reported chase for the 24-year-old Southampton and England full-back, Nathaniel Clyne, looks set to fall into the latter category.

Reports appearing in the tabloid press this morning indicate that although Manchester United have, reportedly, offered the Hampshire club £20 million for the player, Southampton are confident Clyne will remain on their books.

Southampton`s manager, Ronald Koeman, has remarked about the situation,

“It has taken a bit longer than we expected but Nathaniel has changed his agent and the feeling is good that we can keep him.

“I`m a long time in football so I know until the contract is signed anything can happen.

“But we hope that will be done next week.”

If so, time to look elsewhere I`d suggest!
