Job done I`d say!

Okay it was an emotional affair and it was very pleasing to see that everybody, before the match got underway, was on their best behaviour, but the idea was to go to Anfield, do a job and take all three points.

The first half may well have seen us give a lacklustre display but we bounced back in true United style.

Although our hosts edged the first half, Lindegaard held firm in the United goal and Mark Halsey never shirked from his responsibilities when he brandished a red card in the direction of Jonjo O`Shelvey after the Liverpool midfielder had committed a dangerous tackle on Jonny Evans.

The interval came and went and despite our man advantage we were soon trialing when, yes you`ve guessed it, Steven Gerrard strode onto a loose ball and smacked it home.

But United never faltered and soon were level. Rafael, pushing way up field, produced a curling, dipping effort that left Reina groping at straws as it sailed into the top corner.

It was game on now and Halsey did us another huge favour when two Liverpool clowns missed a tackle on Valencia and when the winger sped into the penalty area Glen Johnson nudged him in the back and caught him with a foot and a penalty it was.

Having previously suggesting that United never get penalties at Anfield and on the back of United having missed the last three, it was Van Persie that strode forward to take the kick. The Dutchman had to wait an eternity whilst Agger received treatment on the half way line but when the time came the ball was duly dispatched and the three points belonged to United.

Things are looking up now with United having won their last four games and are now bearing down on the leaders Chelsea.
