It may not seem long since you all remembered the glory days of this trio:
Neville bombing up and down the right flank, Giggs dancing past defenders on the left wing with ease and Scholes pinging passes 40 yards left and right (and still is!). But like all true veterans their time has to come to an end and it seems Sir Alex is coming to accept that time may be soon.

Our purse has been very tight since the departures of Tevez and Ronaldo leading to speculation on a restricted budget which have been denied multiple times. Now Fergie seems resigned to the fact that he may have to break the bank to an extent to fill the gap left by these three once their careers come to an end.

‘There may be a time in the next couple of years where we have to stretch ourselves, particularly when Ryan, Paul and Gary retire. Then, it is a possibility we would need to get really top players in to galvanise the younger ones coming through.”

At last we could be getting what we the fans truly want which is world class players being brought into the club, the concerning thing is Sir Alex still appears resigned to the fact that they can play on next year and maybe another after that.

Scholes has been brilliant so far this season, Giggs has had his moments and Neville, well not really sure whether he`s still up for it to be honest. At the dying ends of the season it comes down to fitness as much as anything else, I for one am concerned about that this year let alone another year after this without something extra.
