Did you hear them?

Those groans from all over the country that filled the air when Manchester United managed to beat Hull City, at the KCOM Stadium with a last gasp stoppage time winner.

Naturally those groans were followed by the usual mantra of,

“How many times do Manchester United snatch victory in stoppage time. Jammy so and so’s.”

But is there some credence to the claim?

Have, over the years, Manchester United been the benefactor of late goals more than any other Premier League side?

Well perhaps not!

The statistics show that when it comes to teams that have scored the most 90th minute goals we do not top the table, a table which reads:

? 1 – Liverpool – 28 goals
? 2 – Arsenal – 21 goals
? 3 – Chelsea – 20 goals
? 4 – Everton – 19 goals
? 5 – Manchester United – 18 goals

Does the above surprise you?

Your thoughts would be most appreciated.
