Stood pitch side in Basel last night, Roy Keane`s opinions didn`t go down too well with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Keane, in his role as a pundit on ITV, criticized the United team an din particular the youngsters, commenting amongst other things,

“I`d be getting hold of some of those lads, saying ‘you`d better buck up your ideas.”

Sir Alex, still licking his wounds after being knocked out of the Champions League, in the group stages, hit back,

“Roy had an opportunity to prove himself as a manager and it`s a hard job. We have enough good young players at the club to see us through.”

“Its part of football, you have to deal with disappointment and it`s been used as motivation many times.”

“These young players will have to cope with it and get on with it in their careers.”

Very true, but I loved the dig at Keane the failed manager – priceless in a time when we`re all feeling a little on the low side!
