The last time, here at Vital Manchester United, we covered the possibility of Romelu Lukaku joining Inter Milan it came with an interesting tag line.
Our article, excellent-news-as-media-speculation-infers-united-may-get-the-best-part-of-a-striker-swap-deal inferred that Manchester United could well do a part-exchange deal involving Mauro Icardi with the Serie A side desperate to balance their books to cover the cost of signing United’s 26-year-old Belgium international.
Today, according to The Guardian, matters have changed slightly.
It would appear that Inter Milan have come up with a cunning plan to sign Lukaku, a plan that would ensure they don’t fall foul of the Financial Fair Play regulations.
Our referenced source is inferring that Inter would be prepared to take Lukaku on loan for two years, paying Manchester United £9 million whilst agreeing to buy the player, at the end of the two-year spell, for a fee of £53.8 million.
Now, whilst that may seem a good deal for Inter, I’m of the opinion it isn’t something United should, or will, agree to.
With Ole Gunnar Solksjaer looking to carry out a squad rebuild this summer, do United really want to lose a striker and receive a pittance for him and have to wait for another two years to get the fee they’re entitled to?
I’d suggest the answer is a no-brainer!

Its not a no-brainer. Its quite a win-win situation.
Simply sum up the wages that Man Utd will pay lukaku in these 2 year.
Lukaku is free to go for the right price. If the price will come in 2 years that money better spent when and if Man U get back to the CL. Better than having it now Man u has its books balanced and is buying cheap players. So, save money on salary, stash the money for when it could be better spent, and let aplayer that doesnt want to be there to go.

No we need the money now so we can get proper players so that we can challenge for titles. We should not accept also because Inter might not pay at the end of the loan.
Just another case of Woodward getting mugged off again as usual. How is this in any way good for United? We lose a player in a position we are already lacking in. We wont get the money to replace him for 2 years. Too much could happen in that 2 years as well. Dont get me wrong I want rid of him but for the right deal.
