Last season, Warren Joyce took a monumental step in leaving Old Trafford to become a manager in his own right.

Joyce decided that taking charge at Wigan Athletic was what he wanted to do after being in charge of Manchester United`s reserve side for eight years.

Sadly, it was a move that didn`t work out, Joyce didn`t last the course at Wigan and was promptly sacked.

However, it seems that Joyce is now ready to step back into management.

The Sun on Sunday is reporting that Joyce has beaten off a host of competitors to land the job of manager of Melbourne City, down in Australia,

By some strange quirk of fate, Melbourne are also the sister club of our nearest rivals, Manchester City.

The position means that 52-year-old Joyce will depart these shores in the next few weeks to begin a new life in Australia.

Here at Vital Manchester United we`d like to wish him all the best and hope he enjoys the success he deserves.
