Many suspected, in the recent Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Wales that Phil Jones might be in with a chance of earning his first international cap.

Unfortunately, for Phil, that didn`t turn out to be the case with Fabio opting to stick with the more experienced pairing of John Terry and Gary Cahill.

But we`re sure that Phil`s turn will come.

Until then he`ll have to bide his time but there could still be an opportunity for Phil to get some international action.

The tabloid press are inferring that Stuart Pearce, with two difficult fixtures coming up for his U21 side, may well be looking at using the talents of Phil to give their chances of picking up maximum points, from qualification games, a boost.

Speaking about this very subject, Pearce is quoted in the media as having remarked,

“We have got two tough fixtures next.”

“I`ll follow club form and see if we can get one player from the seniors.”

Here at Vital Manchester United we reckon it`d be a good move and would further groom Phil for the stage he`s set to dominate in years to come!
