Just recently the transfer gossip columns, in the tabloid publications, have heavily hinted that the German midfielder, Bastien Schweinsteiger, could be heading for the exit at the Allianz Arena this summer.

Although the experienced world-class midfielder is the wrong side of thirty, his mere possible availability saw Manchester United linked with being a key-player in trying to sign the player.

However, comments printed in the press this morning, comments attributed to the Bayern Munich chief executive, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, imply that is most certainly not going to happen with the former German international remarking,

“I don`t know if the story has weight.

“But from our point of view it`s clear we would only consider a transfer if Bastian were to confront us with a concrete wish. That`s not the case.”

So unless somebody in the press knows something that Karl-Heinz Rummenigge doesn`t, any notion that Bastien Schweinsteiger is going to turn up at Old Trafford and be paraded in a Manchester United shirt is just, how they say, pie-in-the-sky!

It`s a shame though is it not, his style, I believe, would suit the Premier League perfectly.
