It’ll Be £2 Million Well Spent If United Can Achieve It

|

Almost two weeks ago, Manchester United took the decision to axe Jose Mourinho.

The decision was taken after Manchester United had slipped so far off the pace, it looked very much as if finishing in the top-four, thereby achieving a place in the Champions League next season, was under threat.

Appointing Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, in a caretaker role until the end of the season, was a brave move.

However, the Norwegian got off to the best of starts when, in his first game in charge, he steered Manchester United to a 5-1 win away to Cardiff.

Today, lurking in the pages of the tabloid publication, the Daily Star, is the inference that Solksjaer will earn a £2 million bonus if, during his time in charge, he can steer Manchester United to a top-four finish.

Currently, Manchester United sit in sixth position in the table, some eight points behind Chelsea, in fourth.

A gap of eight points isn’t insurmountable if Ole can take Manchester United on an unbeaten run, something the squad is quite capable of doing.

If Ole can guide Manchester United to a top-four finish, then it will, in our opinion, be £2 million well spent.
