It Wouldn’t Be Summer If Manchester United Were Not Linked With The Acquisition Of Another Central Defender

|

You would have thought that after all our dealings in the transfer market, relating to central defenders, we’d have settled on a defensive pairing that is up there with the best of them.

Well, apparently not!

Lurking in the pages of The Sun is the inference that Manchester United are set to join the race to sign Bournemouth’s Dutch international defender, Nathan Ake.

Ake, now 25-years-of-age, could be a casualty of Bournemouth’s impending drop back into the Championship and his services are wanted by a trio of clubs, if our source is correct, with Manchester City and Chelsea rivaling United for his services.

The central defender joined Bournemouth from Chelsea and it is understood that the London club may be able to activate a buy-back clause on the player.

But is Ake any better than those centre backs we already have?
