With it being common knowledge that Sir Alex Ferguson can`t go on forever and will retire one day, the name of his potential successor will continue to court speculation.

However, when it comes to a successor, the Sunday Express reckons Sir Alex is thought to favour the appointment of a fellow Scot, David Moyes.

Moyes, now 49, has commanded respect with all the work he has done at Goodison Pak and it would, no doubt, be interesting to see him given the chance at a really big club.

However, if the job is to be given to a foreign manager, then the paper infers that Sir Alex would prefer Jose Mourinho to be given the role as opposed to the much vaunted Pep Guardiola

Interesting!
