The man labelled as the ‘Special One` hasn`t officially started his new job at the Bernabou yet but already the media speculation is rife that his next step will be Old Trafford.

Apparently, his new contract with Real Madrid stipulates that after two years service he is free to leave if the club that wants him is prepared to pay the buy-out clause fee.

Whilst at Inter this fee was circa 16 million Euros but the gossip suggests that Real Madrid only had to cough up eight million Euros.

Jose has always intimated that one day he`d return to the Premier League and although he has spoken about returning to Chelsea the grapevine suggests it`s the United job he yearns for.

Already rumours are rife that Sir Alex will choose to leave in two years time therefore this fits in with all the speculation.

After such a successful period as manager of Manchester United it is going to be a big hole to fill when the Scot does decide enough is enough but you get the feeling that Jose Mourinho could well do that.

But, with Sir Alex staying around long enough to create a dynasty you have to ask if Jose Mourinho would be prepared to do more that he two year spells he seems comfortable with at his previous clubs.

Will it happen or is it all just media pie-in-the-sky?
