One news vehicle, this fine Saturday morning, has reopened a can of worms relating to Manchester United signing a new striker this summer.

The striker in question is somebody that the name of our club has been mentioned in the same sentence as numerous times before, one Danny Ings.

The fact is emphasised that Radamel Falcao`s days at Old Trafford are numbered and that the disappointing 29-year-old will be returning to Monaco come the end of the season but also that United will make serious moves to bring the 22-year-old out of contract (this summer) Ings to Old Trafford.

In what has been a fraught season for Burnley with the Turf Moor club looking likely to fall through the Premier League relegation trap door, the performances of Ings have been one ray of sunshine.

It remains to be seen whether Ings, if given the chance to play amongst players with higher talent levels than he as ben used to, can become the prolific scorer that Manchester United could rely on for the next seven or eight years.
