Manchester United are represented in the latest Premier League team of the week that has been selected by BBC pundit Garth Crooks.

Actually Garth is now down as a ‘Football Analyst’ these days, a posh term for a pundit then!

The performance by Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the two nil victory over Southampton on Friday evening at Old Trafford was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other, in the opinion of the former Spurs striker anyway, most impressive performers in the topflight over the latest weekend.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Crooks, we’ll also not argue with it, selected Ibrahimovic as part of his team but explaining his choice he told the BBC.

‘How good and imposing does this guy look in a Manchester United shirt? That’s the second time this season that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has attacked the ball as well as the defender in order to score the perfect headed goal. He did it to Leicester City’s Wes Morgan in the Community Shield and again against Southampton’s Jose Fonte, who had a fantastic European Championship, by the way. Most centre-forwards find it difficult to attack the ball and the man at the same time but not Zlatan. The former Sweden international has buried both defenders in the process. If Ibrahimovic carries on like this, centre-backs are going to need security!’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Ibrahimovic for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Eldin Jakupovic (Hull City), Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea), John Stones (Manchester City), Mason Holgate (Everton), Matthew Lowton (Burnley), Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea), Tom Huddlestone (Hull City), Christhian Stuani (Middlesbrough), Sergio Aguero (Manchester City), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Manchester United).
